At one point in the very small hours of today I looked around me. My ceiling was twinkling with the glow of stars from the nightlight and beside me was a warm snuggly body wrapped in glow in the dark dinosaur pyjamas.
No, I haven’t suddenly developed a fear of the dark and found myself a boyfriend with excellent taste in pyjamas.
Love Bug was sick. And for a brief moment {I think between vomits number eight and nine} she was sleeping soundly tucked in beside me. With Bella laying along the other side of her and Beary curled up at her feet. They barely left her side for 12 hours.
Whatever was in her little body that needed to get out definitely did. The poor little love was sick 11 times. We had five changes of pyjamas, two changes of mumma’s bed linen and three loads of washing. By 4:30am delirium had set in and Bubba and I were discussing why, if they both roar, do lions and dinosaurs sound different? Maybe our friend Rumpy knows the answer to this one. He’s quite the expert on dinosaurs!
You know you’re not well when you can fall asleep on the kitchen counter between episodes of throwing up … waiting for your mumma to carry you to her bed where she can lay with one eye open all night looking over you.
One of us was awake at 7am wanting to play. Mumma is thinking this might be the first day in 6 weeks she has a coffee! Thankfully Love Bug, although very tired and now watching The Aristocats, seems to be on the mend today.
I will admit to breathing in a couple of moments last night and never wanting them to end. At one point I felt these little arms fling around my neck and cuddle me so tight. There were times when she just reached out to hold my hand. And I woke up this morning to one arm wrapped around mine and the other stroking my cheek. I’ve watch you sleep mumma. I love you.
Kind of makes the fact that sleep in total was probably two hours in total worthwhile. Is it nap time yet?
Sicky vomit nights are brutal. So glad the little bug is on the road to recovery.
Poor Poppy and poor Mumma. Hope Poppy feels better soon and I hope Mumma survives the day.
Glad to hear she is feeling a little better! Give her a get well soon hug from me
Hope she is soon better, despite everything sounds like a lovely evening. You really are an inspiration!
Thank you, although I’m not feeling very inspirational right now!
Oh dear! I hope you are getting better Bubba!
Dinosaurs sound different because they don’t really roar, they RAWRRRRR!!!!!!
Love you guys!
We just KNEW you’d know the answer! Love you guys too!
